We went to visit Gramma Jackie over Martin Luther King long weekend, we had a relaxing time as usual, exept that now we don't go to the movies anymore (because of the baby) but we still enjoy eating out a lot. Gabriel likes playing with Gramma Jackie's collection of coloured plastic lids! I think we may need to start our own collection...
On a different day, we spent a couple of relaxing hours walking around Montclair village, going to the post office, Starbucks, the chocolate truffle place and the library.
We spent a nice day walking around Fisherman's Warf, Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square and taking the cable car. Had lunch at Boudin and even stopped for rocky road caramel apple. Here are some funny moments:
A grumpy Gabriel who was not happy about stopping for a lunch break.
Here we are near Pier 39 with Alcatraz in the background.
By the time we got to Ghiradelli Square I was too tired for a sundae!!! We ended up changing Gabriel's diaper on yet another park bench.
I was quite proud of myself for driving all the way to the Jelly Belly factory without getting lost. Gabriel even put up with the tour without too much fuss. Thanks to An, I have another photo with Gabriel.
I usually don't drive much, and only recently (about time) got my California driver's license. My first trip driving without Jonah, was taking my sisters to Berkeley. We walked around the Berkeley campus, hoagies & curly fries for lunch, ending with a visit to the library.
Well my sisters were impressed by Walmart, and it wasn't even a big one. I'll have to tell them about the new big Walmart that recently opened up. They were impressed that there was a Maccas inside Walmart...until I told them about the Pizza Hut inside Target!
Well this is probably the best dim sum I've ever had, but definitely the most expensive experience too! The place is called "Yank Sing" (how's that for a weird name) at the Rincon Center. We went to yum cha with An and Tran, here are some photos that An took.
Really fresh salad, interesting combinations, very tasty...
Even the tea looks cool, but we got charged for the tea!!!
The mango pudding is delicious!!!
Finally ...a photo of the three of us.
Gabriel's first high chair experience. Yuck!!! He's going to be one of those kids that chew on furniture.
Since I take a lot of the photos used on our blog, there are not too many photos of me with Gabriel, so it's nice to see some photos of myself that I actually like and want to post.
This is our first Kwanzaa, it was totally packed, the food was amazingly good (the sweet potatoes were the best ever, the ham was great, I have no idea what the vegetables were but they were really good too, unfortunately there was turkey...I've sworn off turkey...at least until next Thanksgiving). And we finally got a photo of Jerry holding Gabriel.
Gabriel slept through most of the party since it was his bed time. He woke up just in time to greet the four-legged members of the family. I don't think he looks too impressed, but he was just sleepy!
Finally getting around to posting our Christmas celebration with Mom, Grandma, Uncle Errol and Jessie. The food was great...we especially love the meatballs. Good thing we don't need to buy Gabriel presents, he gets plenty from everyone else.
Totally behind in all my updates over the "silly season". Here I've got Gabriel squeezed into the sling while I'm cooking. He actually looks like a cute little newborn again...
